Workout Recap - Week of October 13, 2019
I was low on overall energy this week, for whatever reason. Even moderate workouts left me feeling exhausted, and I spent more spare time just laying in my bed than I did actually doing things. I'm not sure what happened, because I didn't do anything I haven't done before and I didn't have any notable changes with my diet, sleep, or overall routines. I'm guessing it's just a quirk of biorhythms that'll clear itself up with time.
Sunday
Type: Pass/Fail
Fingertip Push Ups - 1 set of 16 (pass)
Uneven Pull Ups - 1 set of 9, each side (pass)
Pistols Squats, both hands behind me - 1 set of 7, each side (pass)
Bonus: 5 breath isometric one-armed dead hang (each side)
Fairly ho-hum, on the whole. If nothing else, it was a bit of a bounce back compared to how I opened things last week.
Tuesday
Type: As Fast As Possible
5 sets of:
5 Pull Ups
10 Push Ups
15 Prisoner Squats
Time = 4:00
Bonus: none
A simple quickie, which I finished with a fantastic time. I feel like that's a bit of proof that there wasn't anything wrong with me physically, whatever the cause of my lethargy might be.
Wednesday
Type: Pass/Fail
Close Handstand Push Ups - 1 set of 10 (pass)
Stand-to-stand Bridges, one wall touch on the way up - 1 set of 10 (pass)
Uneven Pull Ups - 1 set of 8, each side (pass)
Bonus: 2 sets of three two-way suicide jumps
Given that I want to improve my pull up performance, I thought it'd be reasonable to substitute some in place of leg raises. I'm still not as comfortable with uneven pull ups as I have been in the past, but I'm getting there.
Friday
Type: As Fast As Possible
4 sets of:
10 Chins Ups
10 Hindu Push Ups
30 High Knees
Time = 8:00
Bonus: none
Efficient and effective.
Saturday
Type: As Fast As Possible
6 sets of:
6 Pull Ups
6 Burpees
6 Bridges
Time = 7:30
Bonus: 6 breath isometric one-armed dead hang (each side)
Not the greatest time I've ever put up for this challenge, but I tied my last performance in it. I think the bridges were the weak link in the whole thing, so I know what to focus on to get better.
