Workout Recap - Week of December 15, 2024

Week in, week out.

 

Monday

Muay Thai class

This was a boxing class focused on fundamentals, likely influenced from a mix of some new people showing up to try a class and one of the regulars having a hurt shin. It was a nice refreshing grind for me, and as a little surprise, we got to finish up with a few rounds of head-to-head back-and-forth drilling, albeit without switching partners between each round like we typically do for that.


Tuesday

 

Muay Thai class


This was a stamina day, working on sequences with multiple kicks. It could've been difficult, but I was in a trio, so there were enough breaks mixed in that it all stayed pretty much in my comfort zone. That said, it was still a decent workout that's likely to have some positive impact on my conditioning. I don't mind that I'm not always getting out as much as I could in theory; I'm not on a known timeline to improve.


Wednesday

Muay Thai class


This class ignored hitting people in the head for a change to focus on low kicks and body shots. It feels like it's been a while since we've done one of these, and as usual, I enjoyed getting an opportunity to make people question their choices in life.


Thursday

 

Muay Thai class


Low attendance once again for this class, so we did some fun stuff like working on the washing machine or spinning backfists. I don't have a whole lot to say about it; if nothing else, it's a good class for conditioning, and that's a very important part of being able to fight well.
