Workout Recap - Week of February 23, 2025
The grind continues, and I remain steadfast.
Monday
Muay Thai class
This was a fundamental review class to get newbies up to speed while the competitive fighters tried to polish their skills for their upcoming matches. It was a solid, if basic, class. I don't mean that as a complaint, just as an assessment.
Tuesday
Muay Thai class
This was a kick-focused class, for which I had fun working in a trio with an experienced partner and one of the new fighters. I noticed improvement in the fighter's form over the course of the class, which was cool to see, though it does raise some concerns for how ready they are to compete next weekend. In any case, I'm not taking this as a sign that the kru will trust me to work more with the fighters since her past actions have shown that she'd rather I not, but there was basically nobody else who was willing to partner with me for this day, so I took advantage of the opportunity.
Wednesday
Muay Thai class
This class was a stamina-burner day, with long sequences involving at least two round kicks. It was a grind, but I felt like I held up pretty well until fatigue finally caught up to me in the last round. Still, it was a fun and productive time.
Thursday
Muay Thai class
This day was a continuation of the multiple-kick grind, and between the previous class and not sleeping well, I was apparently not well-prepared for it because I felt my energy fall off a cliff about halfway through. I still kept going with some approximation of decent impact from good body mechanics, but I'm disappointed in myself. I need to build myself up more for the future.
