Workout Recap - Week of July 4, 2021
After talking about skating through the heat last recap, I suppose I was tempting fate. This week was too hot for my comfort, even indoors and with a sensible amount of climate control. Thus, I trimmed back on the difficulty during the hottest days.
Additionally, I cut down to only four workouts. I had planned to do one on Friday, but somehow or another, I just didn't feel up to it. I won't blame that one on the weather; it was just a lack of commitment on my end.
Monday
Type: Pass/Fail
Uneven Pull Ups - 1 set of 6, both sides (pass)
Archer Push Ups - 1 set of 10, each side (pass)
Bonus: none
Skipping a bonus on this day because of the heat, but otherwise, I'm happy that I was able to push myself with the relatively high rep single sets.
Tuesday
Type: Pass/Fail
Close Handstand Push Ups - 1 set of 12 (pass)
Shrimp Squats, both hands behind me - 1 set of 6, both sides (pass)
Bonus: none
Too hot for a bonus again, and same general reaction to the main workout itself.
Wednesday
Type: Pass/Fail
Bridges - 2 sets of 15 (pass)
Straight Leg Raises - 2 sets of 20 (pass)
Bonus: 10 pull ups
Slight reprieve on this day, so I stretched things a bit further with a return to some old progression targets. Achieving them was comfortable, as it should be, but the hostile conditions were enough to still make me sweat for it in more ways than one.
Saturday
Type: Pass/Fail
Uneven Pull Ups - 2 sets of 5, both sides (pass)
Archer Push Ups - 2 sets of 8, each side (pass)
Bonus: 15 breath isometric dead hang
Getting things back on track, now that the weather is being less uncooperative. Sometimes, it's enough to take the wins I can get.
