Workout Recap - Week of June 19, 2022
Yet another light week, although at least this one was partly because of a medical appointment. Admittedly, I'm also still feeling down, and the SCOTUS ruling yesterday didn't help with that, but I'm hoping that pushing past that mid-week was a sign that I've overcome the current spell.
Tuesday
Type: As Fast As Possible
7 sets of:
7 Pull Ups
7 Burpees
Time: 7:15
Bonus: 1 pull up, 1 burpee, 40 sit-ups
Tantalizingly close to tying my old personal record on this, but still one measurement interval short. That said, that's definitely nothing to feel bad about, and I was cranking out the sit-ups afterwards so easily that I stopped out of boredom rather than feeling like I was maxed out. Good work all around.
Wednesday
Type: Pass/Fail
Uneven Handstand Push Ups - 2 sets of 6, each side (pass)
Pistol Squats - 2 sets of 6, each side (pass)
Hanging Straight Leg Raises, with hip twists - 2 sets of 6, each side (pass)
Bonus: 4 sets of 3 two-way suicide jumps, 7 burpees
Progress with the handstand push ups, which is always welcome. The pistol squats and leg raises are feeling better, too, but I'm not entirely confident about adding more reps to those just yet.
Thursday
Type: Pass/Fail
Uneven Pull Ups - 2 sets of 7, each side (pass)
Stand-to-stand Bridges, one wall touch on the way up - 2 sets of 6 (pass)
One-arm Push Ups, feet apart - 2 sets of 4, each side (pass)
Bonus: 4 sets of 3 chest-clap plyometric push ups, 10 bridges
Feeling better with these movements, though I did a lot of undocumented bar work during this week that left my grip slightly overworked for this routine. Something to keep an eye on in the future.
Saturday
Type: As Fast As Possible
6 sets of:
6 Pull Ups
6 Burpees
6 Bridges
Time = 6:30
Bonus: 25 breath isometric dead hang
A new personal record! Great way to cap off the week, even with greater events being pretty terrible.
