Workout Recap - Week of March 30, 2025

Coming back after missing a week was taxing, but it didn't take too long to get back in gear.
Monday
Muay Thai class
This class started out with a ten-spot drill station gauntlet rotation, which was probably less than ideal for my first class back after a forced break, but it was good as an immediate stress test. My stamina definitely wasn't quite where it usually is, but I held up surprisingly well despite that and was still rocking the padholder on the final station of repeated rear round kicks despite sucking wind between each one. We finished up with a few drills of just trying to work on form with single strikes, which was a welcome reprieve.
Tuesday
Muay Thai class
This class was back to more usual padwork with a high-volume kicking focus. Pretty much every drill involved either repeated round kicks and/or repeated knee strikes. My stamina still wasn't back to usual, but it was definitely better than the previous day, so I took that as a reassuring sign that I was close to making up any remaining lost ground in that area.
Wednesday
Muay Thai class
This was a fundamental review day, which worked well since I was partnered with a relative newbie. It was a good opportunity to practice limiting my power and focusing on having clean technique while keeping up a high pace, which was all probably a good thing in general for me to help stretch my stamina while I was still rebuilding it. This was the first class this week that didn't leave me sucking wind hard by the class's end, even with some extra calisthenic work compared to usual, so I can't use that as an excuse after it.
Thursday
Muay Thai class
This class was all about doubled kicks, mostly round kicks, though with a few front kicks mixed in. I could focus on whether or not I was really fully back in my conditioning, but it was close enough that I'm not going to talk about it anymore. Aside from that, it was a fine way to cap off the week.
