Back to my regular schedule.
Monday
Â
Muay Thai class
This was a boxing day, to give some reprieve to the legs of the fighters who had competed over the weekend. It started out with pretty basic offense before building up to include defense and countering. I felt myself getting a bit slower towards the end, but I think I still kept up a good pace and heavy impact, so I'll take it.
Tuesday
Â
Muay Thai class
This class was a grind. It started out with small and rapid drills before tacking on more and more to them to make long sequences. We also did some elbow striking practice in there, which I always like. The final drill simplified things back to just doing four consecutive round kicks to burn out any remaining stamina, and I was still getting enough impact to visibly rock my padwork partner, which I'm taking as a good sign.
Wednesday
Muay Thai class
This class was all about the rear leg, doing lots of knee strikes and round kicks. I don't think we'd focused on a single limb like that before in my time at this gym (or at least it's very rare), but it was an interesting change from the usual drills. I think it was a good class, and I liked how I handled it.
Thursday
Â
Muay Thai class
The kicking continued this day, with every drill involving working with a kick shield, using front kicks and round kicks in a mix-and-match with both legs. It was simple but effective. Then we did some extra calisthenics to finish up, which I seemed to keep up decently well with. All in all, I'm feeling alright about how it went.
