Workout Recap - Week of November 28, 2021
This was another time-crunched week, and I cut things back to four workouts in reaction. They erred towards the quick side, too. Not my proudest time, but there's naught to be done but to grow from it.
Monday
Type: As Fast As Possible
3 sets of:
21/15/9 Plyometric Lunges
21/15/9 Diamond Push Ups
21/15/9 Straight Leg Raises
Time = 5:45
Bonus: 8 pull ups
An old routine that I like for its balance of explosive and measured movements. The challenge to it is in minimizing the dead time, and I think I was mediocre at best in that regard. Could've been worse, but there's definite room to improve.
Thursday
Type: As Fast As Possible
3 sets of:
11/8/5 Pull Ups
11/8/5 Handstand Push Ups
21/15/9 Straight Leg Raises
Time = 4:15
Bonus: 14 breath isometric flexed hang
Progress across the board on this workout compared to last week, which is great to see. I still had a little of the odd discomfort in my right forearm during the first set, but it was quite minor and didn't return in the later sets, so I feel I'm close to putting that behind me.
Friday
Type: As Fast As Possible
3 sets of:
21/15/9 Chin Ups
21/15/9 Bridges
21/15/9 Mountain Climbers (each side)
Time = 8:15
Bonus: 6 handstand push ups
The chin ups and bridges needed multiple minisets each time through, which was to be expected and honestly wasn't as rough as I'd thought it would've gone. Encouraging signs.
Saturday
Type: Pass/Fail
Handstand Push Ups - 1 set of 20 (pass)
Hanging Leg Raises - 1 set of 14 (pass)
Close Squats - 1 set of 30 (pass)
Bonus: none
A simple yet non-trivial maintenance workout. I was in a meditative mood, so long bilateral sets appealed more to me than shorter unilateral ones.
